Hi! I’m Briggitte.
Therapist & Human
My Approach
My approach to therapy begins by creating a safe space that meets you where you are at and welcomes all the layers you carry. As a trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapist, I take into account your roots, identity, beliefs and lived experience. And as a mind-body based therapist I understand that sometimes it’s difficult to explain everything with words and that not everything needs to be explained but felt in a safe place. I intentionally strive to cultivate this safe space where you can share both moments of worry and celebration. A place where you can be fully seen & heard just. as. you. are.
Want to speak in English? Or feel more comfortable in Spanish? Let’s do it. Spanglish? Why not. This Therapy space is for you!
My Credentials
I completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Florida, a program accredited by CACREP. I’m also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a method that helps the brain and body process difficult experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering.
Alongside my individual therapy work, I have a deep connection to group spaces and community building.
Over the years, I have created and facilitated spaces such as:
Safe Haven for Femme: a book club and support group for femme-identifying individuals to connect, share, and explore their immigrant or child-of-immigrant experiences
International Student Support Group at Jacksonville University: a gathering space for international students to build community and find connection
Empowered: a women’s sexuality and well-being group focused on expressing and exploring sexuality in a safe, supportive environment
Beyond the Therapy Room
In addition to being a therapist , I am also passionate about:
acroyoga with friends
painting portraits and abstract pieces
blasting music and dancing in my kitchen
traveling and learning languages - currently learning German
singing (off-key) but hey, I like to pretend I have the voice of Adele
What are some things you enjoy?
I’d love to hear about it.
